Hair tress evaluation can be used to assess a number of consumer relevant attributes such as ease of combing and hair smoothness.
Combing tests are conducted using a fibra.one and can be performed on both wet and dry hair tresses and are ideal to evaluate the performance of conditioning treatments to support ‘conditioning’ and ‘ease of combing’ types of claims. Measurements are recorded both before and after treatment on either undamaged or damaged hair. The parameters of total work and peak force provide information of the combing force along the length of the tress and detangling respectively.
The frictional properties of hair determines how it feels to touch, how it combs, handles, styles, and its manageability. Hair friction measurements on the fibra.one can be used to support claims of hair smoothness.
Combing and friction tests can be conducted as individual tests or combined to provide a more comprehensive product evaluation. Contact our team for more information on testing options.
